By registering for all 3 races, you are eligible to receive the TRIPLE CROWN FINISHERS MEDAL.

Medals & Awards

There are no finisher medals for individual races.

In 2025, we are introducing the TRIPLE CROWN FINISHERS MEDAL.

*Participant must finish all 3 races.

Additionally, the top 3 male and female runners from each race will be recognized and receive a medal.

  • Races 1, 2 & 3 – Medium Course: Top 3 Men & Women

The Triple Crown Medals have been custom made from Badges & Medals, while all trophies have been crafted by Shannan from Yillky, a local artisan from North-west Tasmania, using locally sourced materials.

Overall Series Championship

The Overall Series Champions will be determined based on points earned.

  • At each race, everyone who finishes will receive points depending on their finishing position.
  • Points are awarded in descending order:
    • 1st place = 20 points;
    • 2nd place = 18 points;
    • 3rd place = 16 points;
    • 4th place = 14 points;
    • 5th place = 12 points;
    • 6th place = 10 points;
    • 7th place = 8 points;
    • 8th place = 6 points;
    • 9th place = 4 points;
    • Everyone from 10th place through to our final finisher will receive 2 points.

Championship Eligibility:

  • Points are accumulated within the same course category; Short, Medium, and Long. If a runner finishes 2 Long Course races, and 1 Medium Course race, only the points from the Long Course count towards their total in that category.
  • Champions are based on overall total points from all 3 races. A runner who only finishes 2 races, but their accumulated points land them in 2nd place on the points tally, are still eligible for 2nd place. Runners do not have to participate in all 3 races to be awarded. This is based on finish points tally, not races entered.

Tie Break Rules:

  • In case of a points tie, we will examine the head-to-head outcomes of the tied runners throughout all series races.
    • If a tie persists, we will refer back to the head-to-head result of race 1. If there is a draw in race 1, we will proceed to race 2, and so forth.
    • If all else fails, we might just have to resort to the classic paper, scissors, rock… although we highly doubt it will come to that!

If any participants have concerns or issues with the tie-break rules, they are encouraged to contact the event directors at nwtrs.tas@outlook.com.

We are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent competition and will address any questions or disputes promptly.

Participants are reminded that these rules are designed to ensure a clear and equitable determination of the Overall Series Champions. The goal is to recognize the most outstanding performances across the series, while also providing a structured and fair method for resolving any ties that may arise.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines, and we wish all competitors the best of luck in their races.

Happy running!
